ICC Award | ICC Award 2019 | Virat Kohli Gets all 3 major awards

ICC Award - Virat Kohli as usual famous for making the history. Now again Virat Kohli made the history to win all three major and topmost awards in the ICC Award 2019.

Virat Kohli gets the three top award for his performances in 2018 which is mention below :

  • Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year
  • The ICC Men's Test Player of the Year 
  • The ICC ODI Player of the Year

Virat Kohli becomes the first player to win all three awards together after accumulating 1322 runs from 13 Tests, 1202 from 14 ODIs and 211 from T20Is. "It feels amazing. It's a reward for all the hard work that you do throughout the calendar year - Virat Kohli said.

Virat Kohli was the unanimous choice of the Voting Academy for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy with South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada coming in second behind him for both this as well as the ICC Test Player of the Year award. Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan was runner up for the ICC ODI Player of the Year award.

ICC Chief Executive David Richardson praised Virat Kohli: “Sincere congratulations to every one of our individual winners and those players named in our ICC Test and ODI teams of the year. Special mention must go to Virat Kohli, who becomes the first-ever player to win the Sir Garfield Sobers award along with Test Player of the Year and ODI Player of the Year and be named as captain of both teams.

India's Virat Kohli has swept the pool at the annual International Cricket Council awards, winning back-to-back player of the year awards.

Virat Kohli's latest accolade comes after former Australia captain Michael Clarke anointed him "the greatest batsman to have ever played one-day cricket" during a commentary stint on Indian television.

Williamson was also awarded the ICC Spirit of Cricket award while Kumar Dharmasena was named the Umpire of the Year.
